HomeGrown for Issue 76 of AT saw the melding of ancient home computers and music production with Chris Mylrea of cTrix showing us around some of the tools employed by chip-musicians. Crazy as it seems, this fraternity of musicians use some of the oldest computers ever available to the general public as sound sources for an incredible array of electronically produced music. From the popular Commodore 64 through to Nintendo Gameboys, anything that can produce a sound is dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century in the name of electronica. We at AT salute such resourcefulness – see Homegrown Issue 76 for the nitty-gritty, and keep track of some modern-retro shenanigans by visiting the cTrix website.
