Published on May 4th, 2010

the ‘mm, mmm, mmm’ grunting from the interviewer is extremely annoying, I couldn’t listen to the whole thing

Great confirmation on the differences between “loud v Noisy” …If your starting out, try mixing for a small church (around 500 people). We all know that these punters aren’t experts but, they will give you their expert opinion. Given the genre of these two black and white styles regardless of the differences, having mixed way above our 96dB threshold, if the mix matches the “perception” you can get away with a lot.

The fans perception LOUD. The council perception NOISE!
Getting a great balance of the freq spec given the nature of the band and preserving the balance and authenticity of “their sound” deserves a medal.
    Cheers, Wil
