Further to my letter in Your Word in issue 87 I'd like to know what everyone regards as their benchmark albums.

What album do you own that you regard as the best you've heard?

What recording continues to amaze you each time you listen to it?

What album do you strive to compare your own recordings with?

What recording leaves you scratching your head as to how on earth someone created it?

Everyone's got one and I want to hear it.

I really like the sound of this.......

The recently released CD sounds nearly as good as the original vinyl.

There are plenty of others but I always seem to come back to that one.

"Last Plane Out" by Toy Matinee. Bill Bottrill produced and engineered it, and it was one of the first CDs to be considered for 5.1 mixing because of its quality of sound. James Taylor's "Hour Glass" won a heap of production awards- for good reason.
