Adam and Tony Boon’s P.A.S. studio is located in Wodonga, and has been an out of control project of love during the last 10 years. The father and son team only take on projects they have an affinity with, opting to steer clear of the TVC and jingles market.
The Boons encourage a fairly laid-back and casual creative experience, avoiding the pressure, hassle and expense sometimes associated with larger commercial studios.
Equipment in service includes a modified Soundcraft Spirit Studio console, JBL4410 mid-field, Quested near-field, and Grover Notting monitoring systems. The DAW is a recent Mac Pro running Logic Studio, RME HDSPe RayDat card and RME ADI8DS AD/DA. Effects are courtesy of the Waves Renaissance Maxx budle, a Lexicon PCM90 reverb and a dbx Quantum all-in-one digital mastering box.
Mics include a Neumann TLM103, modified Oktava mics such as the MK-319, MKL-2500, and MK-01, Michael Joly U47 (Modified Rode NT1), Shure mics including the SM7, KSM32, Beta 52, SM57, SM81, SM91BPM TB-95, Apex 205 Ribbon, and Audix i5 and D6 mics.
