EVENTIDE H9000 STEPS UP HARDWARE FX PROCESSING

Published On October 19, 2017 | News, Recording/Mixing

Hardware effects processing is familiar territory for Eventide but the company’s new H9000 unit blows every previous offering out of the water. The H9000 is a 16-DSP, network-ready, multi-channel rackmount processor which offers eight times the processing power of the current-generation H8000 unit — eight times!

Four quad core ARM processors serve as the 16 DSP engines. Eight channels of analogue I/O is accompanied by AES/EBU, ADAT, 16 USB audio channels, and the option to connect to standard audio networks like MADI, Dante, Ravenna, and more. Multichannel processing means the H9000 is comfortable in post production and surround sound applications. In addition, the H9000 is capable of running effects chains which let you connect any set of four effects together with flexible routing. Effects chains can act as a voice channel, mimic a guitar pedal board, or a modular synth with effects, etc. A remote control application called Emote is available as a standalone app or plug-in for in-the-box users. Emote can also be used over an audio network.
