Antelope FET comp

Antelope Audio announced the arrival of its FET-A76 solid-state compressor to its latest hardware interfaces, as well as a further expansion of its EQ offerings with four new vintage hardware models, each of which leverages Antelope’s Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology.

Goliath, Zen Tour and Orion Studio hardware users — the FET-A76, VEQ-HLF, Helios 69, NEU-PEV and Lang PEQ2 tracking and mixing tools are now available immediately as an update through the Antelope digital platform.

FET-based compression has been a staple in the studio since its invention in the late ’60s. The Antelope FET-A76 attempts to capture the nuances of a vintage FET compressor, not only in controlling peaks but also recreating its ability to add punch and presence to anything passing through its circuit. The FET-A76 has Input and Output gain controls and a selectable four-way ratio control with hidden ‘all-buttons’ mode for a more aggressive compression character.

In addition to the FET-A76, Antelope Audio is pushing ahead with its range of EQ models. The four new console-inspired models below team up with the speed and precision of Antelope’s FPGA technology for a seamless experience.

VEQ HLF

VEQ-HLF – Pultec’s simple and effective filter features two knobs: one each for passive low-cut and high-cut filter, with 10 frequency selections available per band.

Helios 69

Helios 69 – The bass band on Helios 69 is a stepped 50Hz shelf filter or frequency selectable peak EQ, the treble band is a fixed 10kHz shelf EQ, and the mid section sports a frequency-selectable peak or notch EQ with eight frequencies available.

NEU PEV

NEU-PEV – The NEU-PEV EQ’s simple interface sports a low shelving filter fixed at 60Hz. The Presence section offers up to 8dB of boost for one of seven selectable frequencies, while a 10kHz high shelf allows boost or cut at the top end of the spectrum.

Lang

Lang PEQ2 – With similar controls to the VEQ-1A tube EQ, the PEQ2 lets you set different and separate LF boost and LF cut frequencies. Great for giving tracks that extra shine, and well suited to vocals and drum overheads.
