NAMM: SHURE MOTIVATED BY IOS

Today in Anaheim, California, Shure unveiled its new line of MOTIV plug-and-play microphones, specifically designed for iOS device.

The new range includes four Apple MFi (made for iOS) Certified devices, three of which are plug & play condenser mics, with a fourth audio interface that connects directly into any iOS device without additional adapters or connection kits. Also released is a new free iOS app, to use with the new products.

Select models automatically adjust the audio processing by setting gain, EQ, and compression. Whilst all models capture audio at 24-bit/48 kHz and feature a variety of DSP modes, such as speech, singing, flat, acoustic instrument, and loud.

“MOTIV tips its hat to the look and feel of Shure legendary products while offering the latest in modern technology and connectivity,” said Matt Engstrom, Category Director for Wired Products at Shure. “We created MOTIV products to be an easy way for anyone to record high-quality sound directly onto many mobile and USB devices. With high-quality microphones and advanced DSP, they are great sounding and flexible products that live up to the quality standards for which Shure is known.”

MV5

MV5 Digital Condenser Microphone:

The MV5 is ideal for recording vocals and acoustic instruments, or for use with Skype, and comes equipped with three DSP modes and a Micro-B to USB cable. Engineered for quick and easy portable use, the MOTIV MV5 has a built-in headphone output for real-time monitoring and the custom tuned microphone capsule provides best-in-class audio. The MV5 is available in green, gray, blue, red, and black (region dependent) and ships complete with a detachable desktop stand and integrated thread mount compatible with any 1/4 inch standard camera tripod. The MV5 can be purchased with Micro-B to Lightning and Micro-B to USB cables.

MV88

MV88 iOS Digital Stereo Condenser Microphone:

The MV88 features a Lightning connector, five built-in DSP preset modes, plus 5-band EQ, and stereo width control. The mid-side microphone element is mounted to a 90-degree hinge with built-in rotation to allow for flexible positioning.

MV51

MV51 Digital Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

The MV51 is a vintage-designed large-diaphragm condenser microphone, with a one-inch capsule element, an in-built headphone out and an integrated kickstand. It comes equipped with five onboard DSP preset modes and the industry’s first touch panel control for quick access to gain, mute, and headphone volume adjustments.

MVI

MVi Digital Audio Interface:

The MVi can connect any XLR microphone or 1/4 instrument to iOS, Mac, or PC devices. It comes equipped with the five built-in DSP preset modes, an onboard touch panel control accessing gain, phantom power, mute, and headphone volume adjustments. It has a low profile footprint and a compact construction and can be purchased with Micro-B to Lightning and Micro-B to USB cables.

ShurePlus MOTIV Mobile Recording App (Free):

Designed for use with the MOTIV line of products,. The interface includes DSP preset modes, microphone gain adjustment, and a stereo width control that can adjust the microphone pick-up pattern, depending on the sound source and surrounding environment.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
